Daily Routine of Sree Swamiji

For him the day begins in the early morning 2:30 am. Sree Swamiji was maintaining a Diary and recording his appointments and work himself. After completing morning chores and taking bath he was performing pooja till 5:30 am and sometimes up to 6:00 am. Immediately, he would attend to his office and receives visitors and devotees. He would go through his diary and look for attending the programmes of the day, and also finish the pending files. If the Newspapers had already arrived he will also go through them.

A simple saint that he was, Sree Sree Sivakumara Swamiji was working 18 hours a day sleeping only for four hours a day, from 11:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. His daily routine was:

  • 2:30 am - 3:30 am: Study of vedas, shastras and philosophy.
  • 3:30 am - 5:30 am: Meditation, pooja followed by breakfast.
  • 6.30 a.m. Comes to office reading news paper, officework various development and administrative works of the Math and Sree Siddaganga Education Society.
  • Providing darshan to the devotees.
  • Visiting devotees places for pooja an functions
  • 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm: Pooja and lunch
  • 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm: In office
  • 6:30 pm - 7:00 pm: Evening Mass prayer session with students
  • 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm: Meeting the devotees
  • 8:00 pm - 11:00 pm: Pooja, dinner and study of various philosophers biography/autobiography
  • 11:00 pm - 2:00 am: Sleeps
